Object oriented development - Essay ExampleIt is an easier way to keep track of program flow and much organized than the traditional spaghetti codes produced by unstructured programming methods. In 70s, a new programming technique began to gain popularity as a top-down approach to program design. This is a technique where a program designer maps out large-scale structure of a program and breaks them into smaller operations. These smaller operations will be tested or debug separately and connect them together into the entire program. Structured programming facilitates easy understanding of smaller pieces of code without having to understand the whole program at once. By the end of the 20th century, mainstream programmers realized the significance and value of structured approach began to apply the concept in high-level programming languages. In the pump of the 1980s, another concept in program development made its way to become the dominant programming methodology. Inheritance- is a mechanism for creating subclasses it provides a way to define a subclass or an extension of a universal class. For instance, as students, class is a subclass of year level class and gender of student in a class is a subclass of the class students. An Abstraction is the ability of a program to disregard the details of an objects class or subclass and simplify it into a more suitable general level. For instance, Alfred the students may be abstracted to a more generic level as year level super c lass. polymorphism is a varying behaviour depending on the class in which the behaviour is call upon to act. This is to say that two or more classes can answer individually and in an entirely different way to an identical message. Austin Farrer Can Myth be Fact Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Austin Farrer Can Myth be Fact - Essay specimenDuring the early ages, the human mind was very undemanding. They had a strong belief in legends to interpret their everyday living and it was through these myths that they identified themselves. The myths which included examples of the rewards that were presumptuousness to the people who were kind by the gods were implied by people in their lives. But with the passing time, want and search for knowledge led the human beings to challenge these myths. It was thence left to the historians and the philosophers to work and argue regarding these legends. But immediately following this period was the emergence of Christianity which worked to save the myths. It was then explained that God had provided the mortals with a confined thought which they utilise to analyze the infinite truths that were given to them by God. The words that they used were a giving of God and it was through this that they constructed myths. Hence since the initial crea tor of the myth was God, consequently the myth must be a reality.Another justification which closely relates a myth to truth is the explanation provided by the believers who claim that God lies in the nature that exists just about us. To strengthen this fact, it can be seen that principles exist for the physics of matter. An example to support this is the idea that the temperature at which weewee boils is constant. This physical law of water is not told to us by nature but it is rather through research and knowledge that we understand this fact. Hence the myths and legends are a part of everything that exists around us and these form the cultural and religious laws of nature which are to be understood and analyzed by the human beings themselves. The myths are legends which drove human beings to get along acts which would otherwise be termed as ridiculous. For instance the prayers performed by people to end a situation of drought so that water could be received. A believer in rel igion and God would definitely

The idea has been difficult to promote to society, since it seems to involve a complete change of ideals when it comes to business and daily life regardless of this hesitation, can sustainable development be the way towards a healthy environmental forthcoming world wideAs pointed out in Conformity and Conflict, easter Island has been shown as a microcosm of the entire world resources used up completely and the gentleman society made impossible and then extinct (Spradley et al 2000 pp.118-126). The difference is glaringly obvious the inhabitants of earth have no viable options when it comes to relocating, whereas the Easter Islanders were able to abandon the island and inhabit outlying lands. Diamond explains how the society of Easter Island was built up quickly and then brought to an almost immediate halt as the mass living there used up virtually every resource that was available to them. Where the island had been rich in plant and animal life when humans ab initio settled there, a mere few hundred years of unsustainable development left the rich lands barren of all life sustaining resources and now sits bare with the skeletal system of human society for all to witness. How does this factor into todays society Diamond explains that Easter Island can be used as an example to the rest of the world because the people there acted in exactly the same way as we are now, all over the world they did not respect the balance of life and overstepped their boun daries as one species and one small part of an ecosystem. Easter Islanders will have noticed their food and other natural supplies dwindling, however they certainly didnt manage to resort the situation in time for their own survival. The ethnographer notes that these isolated Polynesians grew bananas, taro, sweet potatoes, sugarcane, and paper mulberry while their only domesticated animal being the chicken (Ibid.). blanket(a) use of fishing hooks, Polynesian style tools and above all their amazing stone statues and carvings goes to show that the island must have supported several thousand inhabitants at its peak. Diamond asked, what happened to those settlers Linguists and archaeologists are in agreement that the society flourished from around A.D. 400 to after the 1500s, after the resources had run out. Archaeologists have found that during the prosperous years of the Easter Island culture, sustainable development was not on the agenda despite the fact that the society was obviou sly structured and quite complex and capable of many things. The Rise of Mass Communications HW Research Paper

The Rise of Mass Communications HW - Research Paper ExampleWith the technology that we have at our disposal now, oneness would support that the start of the 20th century would have been technologically quite prosperous. But as far as bunch communication media are concerned, the only when mass communication medium available was newspapers (Unknown, 2000-2010). The telegram and telephone were also present at that time, which were very indicantful supplements to newspapers by providing ways to send information crosswise huge distances, instantly (Bellis, 2011). Still, newspapers were the only source of mass communication. So, the 20th century has seen the advent of many technological advances, and with them, there have been numerous revolutions in the ways through which businesses, governments and public figures have employed, and at times exploited, mass media for their agendas. Radio was the first of the communication media inventions in the 20th century, invented by Guglielmo Marconi in 1901. Radio, combined with telegraphy, was one of the to the highest degree excessively used tools (Unknown, 2000-2010), specially at the time of war. It was extensively used as a tool of propaganda during WWI and WWII. Also, political leaders fighting for license from colonial rule used this as a tool of spreading their word and getting people united under the same banner, such as in the subcontinent. Radio has also been used extensively for advertisement and information broadcasting since the advent of Amplitude Modulation Radio and Frequency Modulation Radio. telecasting was the next major invention in the field of communication, and its global outreach opened up new paradigms of media usage. It has proven to be the push required to spread businesses across continents by providing them the platform to advertise to global markets and extend their reach e.g. global brands, like McDonalds (McDonalds, 2010 Stanley, 2010), have relied heavily on television for going glob al. With reach comes the power to influence further, and that made television a more powerful propaganda tool. The notion of sitting in a persons home, in front of them, and talking to them with words and actions, has been exploited time and again by public figures and political leaders to lure public into believing what they want them to believe. The false propaganda going on against Islam in recent times, showing it as a cruel and inhumane religion, has been at the heart of building animosity between people and gaining support for autocratic attacks against Muslims (Bleher, 2000). The 20th century has had many technological marvels, but nothing has been as miraculous as information processing system and internet. This finally provides a medium for not only transmitting your message like the television or newspapers, but also getting feedback on it instantly through dialogues, understanding different cultures and building as well as professing views. Free information access throu gh internet means that companies strive and pay more and more to fill the computer screens of potential customers. But, the most powerful use of internet is e-business, which needs virtually no investment, and thus no chance of a monetary loss. Companies like virago and others have become global internet brands and almost every company pitches its products to millions of customers, everyday through websites (Newell and Budge, 2011). The bigger they are, the bigger they are internet has been the source of most conspiracies and

Shale gas Essay Example for Free

Shale gas EssayWould you make if you were Jane Barrow? Why that one? If I were Jane Barrow, I would suggest shale gas as the best. Since the industrial, electric power and residential make a large contri bution for the use of natural gas, the stakeholder in these split are very important. After multiattribute risk analysis, the chart from adjoin 10 shows they are care about using energy produced in their own jurisdiction. From the Exhibit 3, with the increasing need of natural gas to satisfy consumption, more and more net imports have been done. Shale gas has the largest production capacity per day which is suitable for these stakeholders objective. This make go forth satisfy most of the stakeholders. Although the project is the most expensive one, its huge production makes the profit the largest among these three. So after comparing these projects, I would make the good word for shale gas project.Which one of the three options is the most practical and economical? In my vi ew, coal write out methane is the most practical and economical option. Among these three projects, tight smoothen gas has the best geological condition as in a remote area in West Taxes where fewer people live and it is to the lowest degree costly and has most profit per thousand cubic feet. However, since it has the lowest production capacity per day, the total profit is the lowest. The project of Shale gas, which locates in Pennsylvania, is the most expensive one, but the total profit is the highest. However, this project needs a lot of water from Delaware River that may affect the live of resident near the river. Since the affect of hydraulic fracturing is hush up unknown, the relative apartment and the residents nearby may against the action. The project of the coal bed methane is the best because it requires less fluid during hydraulic fracturing and is easily drillable which means it is relatively honorable and has moderate cost. Rocky Mountain region, the project locates , has a population of 2000, which is suitable. The production capacity per day is well too. So after comparing these projects, the coal bed methane project is the best. What are you most worried about in this decision? The affect of hydraulic fracturing is still unsure. Once theres an accident happens, it will be terrible as the press may aggressively propagate the fact and the relative apartment such as EPS may suggest stamp out the hydraulic fracturing method, which may bring a huge loss to the company not only the profit but also the reputation. Besides, the project may be resisted by the residents nearby since the shale gas project needs a lot of water from Delaware River. The lack data and analysis of the project may bring maverick risk to the company.

Training Session Essay Example for Free

Training Session EssayIn this task I am going to initiation a six week training programme for two selected contrasting knobs, I leave behind the explain the choice of activities for these clients. I will then liberate these choices for both of my clients and I will suggest utility(a)s for activities. For my first client I boast chosen two main areas of improvement, these areas would be core strength and cardiovascular endurance. I have chosen these two areas beca enforce from the manages and fitness test that we have performed my client has showed a weakness in those areas and they would like to improve on these areas. workweek 1For the first week I have decided to introduce both core strength and cardiovascular exercises, I have stated that I would like my client to start at 12 in the afternoon and I would like her to work at around 50 percent bulk. I would have her start off with a general warm up e.g. 10 minute jog and stretches. The session would last 10 proceeding w ith a 30 second rest between each set and a 1 minute rest after each exercise. Then I would come near into the training programme, the first exercise I would have her do would be 2 sets of 20 sit ups. I chose sit ups because they are a costly way of up(a) the strength and tactual sensation of stomach muscles which will admirer in developing core strength. I have chosen this exercise sort of than crunches because I feel that crunches might be too hard to do at first, but when she can do more sit ups I will then progress it onto crunches. An alternative to sit ups would be leg raises because they will work the aforementioned(prenominal) muscles, at the amount of stress and my client might pass them easier than sit ups. I would then go onto 2 sets of 12 mens modal value nip ups I have chosen this style of press ups because this will help the strength in her arms as well as the strength of her abdominals and will help improve core strength. I have chosen these rather than womans style press ups because I feel like she will benefit more from mens style because she will have to work harder and her muscle will develop better because this exercise is harder for her than the other type. So the alternative for this exercise would be the womans style press up, it is easier than the other style and my client might be able to perform more, and it would put away be working the same muscle groups, that is wherefore I have chosen this as an alternative. I would then move onto 2 sets of 12 lungs with a 2kg weight in one hand I chose this exercise because I feel that it will help my clients core strength, leg strength andwill also improve her balance.I chose to use a weight rather than not to use one because it will put her muscles under more stress and will make it harder for her which will help the muscles that she is using cope with future exercises. An alternative exercise would be to do lunges but do not use a weight, because it will be easier for my client to do the exercise but will still put strain and stress on the muscles groups that she is using. For the final exercise I would have my client do 2 sets of 12 squats I chose this exercise because it will help develop the stomach muscles, improve leg strength, and will help improve core stability.I chosen to do this exercise rather than burpes because I think overall this will help with more things and improve her core strength greater than doing burpes. An alternative exercise would be to perform jump squats, for less repetitions, I chose this because I think it will still use the same muscle groups but because it is an volatile exercise it could put the body under more strain which will help develop the muscles that we are using.Second dayFor this day I am going to concentrate on core strength, I would like my client to work at 30 percent intensity it is a low intensity but I have chosen this because her muscles will need to time to recover from the exercise on the first day. She will n eed to start these exercises at 12 in the afternoon. For these exercises I would need her to do a general warm up for 10 minutes but focus more on stretching the muscles that will be in use. The session will last about 10 minutes with a 1 minute rest between each exercise and a 20 second rest between each set. The first exercise that I want my client to do is 2 sets of 20 crunches, I chose this exercise because it is a expert way of using all of your abdominal muscles and will help improve core strength and stability. I chose this exercise rather than regular sit ups because sit ups dont use all of the abdominal muscles and dont put as practically strain on these muscles unlike crunches. An alternative to doing crunches would be to go back to doing regular sit ups, this is easier than doing the crunches but it will still help on improving core strength and stability because it is still using the abdominal muscles. Then I would move onto doing the core stability exercise the add-in . I chose to use the fill out because it shows me how good my clients core strength and stability is and it is a great way to tone up the abdominal muscles and improve strengthin that area. An alternative to the plank could be press ups, my client would still be using the same muscles but this would improve the strength of her arms and would still help tone up and define the stomach muscles. Then the final exercise that I would have my client perform would be the leg raise hold. I chose this exercise because it helps tone up and develop the strength of the abdominal muscles and it is another way of me seeing the ability of my client core strength. An alternative to doing the lag raise hold would be to do leg raises, my client would still be using the same muscles and it would be easier for my client to do thats why it would be a good alternative. Third dayFor this day I am going to concentrate on core stability and strength. I would like my client to work at 40 percent intensity I have chosen this intensity because we the day before we have concentrated on core strength and I dont want my client to become injured. I want my client to concentrate on doing stretches for this warm up so that she doesnt back off a muscle or strain one because we are using the same muscle groups all the time. The session will last 10 minutes and will have 30 rests between each exercise. The first exercise that I want my client to perform is going to be 2 sets of 12 leg raises. I chose this exercise because it helps chant the stomach muscles and also helps tone the muscles that are being used. I chosen this rather than just doing sit ups because its something different and it will stop my client from becoming bored of doing the same exercises. An alternative of doing this exercise would be do perform sit up it would still be using the same muscles but wont help tone and define them as much as leg raises do. The second exercise that I want my client to do is going to be the sit up bike for 1 minute. I chose this exercise because it will help strengthen and tone up the stomach muscles and will help develop the muscles for later exercises. I chose this instead of the leg raise hold because I think this is a good change and will keep my client interested in the training programme. An alternative to this exercise could be sit ups, they still work the same muscle groups and will still help develop the muscles un that area. The third exercise that I would like my client to do would be the plank for 1 minute.

Analysis of Films about Racial Conflicts and Discrimination

Analysis of Films astir(predicate) Racial Conflicts and DiscriminationThe quatern texts apply in this essay are Crash, The Help, Ameri apprise bill X and Gran Torino that are found on the two connections hurt and Character Development. They confound sh bear identical traits how a lead compositors case is influenced from prejudices in societies and control change on their perspectives on life. These assumes are Coperni crowd out beca custom they are influential to the viewer to show that mass can change and that these negative thoughts can be soci eithery extracted. The first connection I provide be discussing is Prejudice this connection is crucial because it is a conflicting social national and is a serious matter in corporation. The second connection is causa development, which is shown through strong motion-picture show techniques. They all have a lead character such as John Ryan, Skeeter Phelan, Derek Vinyard and Walt Kowalski that all have similar cultural per spectives from tough social backgrounds. The characters have an attitude conversion that reflects towards the characters well-nigh them to reveal how it is possible to influence change on others. My first connection is focused on the theme of Prejudice this is shown in scenarios in the four films Crash, The Help, American History X and Gran Torino. The theme prejudice is significant in the films because it is a premature judgement and is a conflicting attitude towards bulk or groups in society. This connection can affect a souls behaviour and approach that can electric potentially lead to divergence to others. The characters in the films are based on stereotypes and overall impressions of people society. The significance of this connection shows that people are not born with prejudice, but have socially experienced these views on others that can further lead to conflict in communities. The first text that shows Prejudice is Crash directed by Paul Haggis is a multi-plot narrative with characters from different racial groups in Los Angeles. This includes racial groups such as white, down(p)s, Mexicans, Iranians, Asians and Russians, in the film all these cultural groups are guilty of racial discrimination or somehow a victim of it in some way. This film shows that not only whites are prejudiced, but minorities have prejudiced toward others and towards their own race. A key example of racial prejudice is shown through Officer John Ryan who is prejudiced against blacks. Although Officer Ryan is the main antagonist, he is the character that changes the most, risking his life in an effort to save the life black woman he sexually harassed. Paul Haggis portrays that Ryan is guilty of racial discrimination. An example of prejudice in the film is shown when Ryan phones a health clinic on behalf of his ill father, a black woman refuses his request to see a different doctor. After revealing her name, Shaniqua, Ryan replies big f**king surprise that is. He has already make his mind up about her race by her name, after having a conversation with her with contempt. This aspect reveals that he shows discrimination to all blacks. Its the sense of touch. In whatever real city, you walk, you know? You brush past people people bump into you. In L.A., nobody touches you. Were always behind this metal and glass. I think we fly the coop that touch so much, that we crash into separately other just so we can feel something. This quote shows that every person needs to have personal contact with another person in society. In the setting of the film (Los Angeles) is portraying it is a busy city where nobody takes time to notice anyone, so people feel isolated. The purpose of this shows people feel desperate from contact in society that we perform unconsciously induct violence or commit to acts in order to gain direct contact we desire from human beings. The film shows that the discrimination is entirely inescapable and is not necessary on that point pas s on always be preconceived notions out there. The second film that shows Prejudice is The Help directed by Tate Taylor this is based in the 1960s in disseminated multiple sclerosis with signs of social division favouring the white ethnic groups. The film shows legal segregation and financial struggles of African-American people with limited employment opportunities. The woman who served as the serve well were contended poorly, they had to have different bathrooms because they were accused of carrying diseases and were only able to have one set of cutlery utensils. This is shown through the film technique of the camera thrust this is a long-shot of Hilly Holbrook looking down over Aibileen. The shot is used to show that whites are superior to African-Americans in society and that they are almost powerless. This film is important because it promotes equally and accepting treatment of all ethnic groups. It shows that society has changed vastly over the last 50 years and that social division has reduced. The director, however, shows that there are still signs of racial discrimination in society, and there is still a divide between racial groups. God says we need to love our enemies. It bad to do. However it can start by telling the truth. This quote shows that in order to have balance in society we need to start respecting each other and to treat everyone equally. The character Aibileen shows to women that we are all the same and not that much divides people into society only prejudice beliefs. The third film that shows Prejudice is American History X directed by Tony Kaye, conveying racial discrimination, equality and stereotyping. The film revolves around the main character Derek Vinyard who prejudices racial, ethnic groups due to blacks that dispatch his father. The two brothers Derek and Danny show to the audience that hate is learned, but shows that their racial discrimination is influenced by the father who is a racist man. A key of example of this is s hown at the dinner to scene that shows the viewer how racist people are made in society. Derek says I do not respect anyone who lets these monkeys in the streets he is cunning monkeys that are referred to like blacks. He believes that Police do not have the privilege to let African-Americans into societies because they only cause crime. Hate is baggage. Lifes is too short to be pissed off all the time. Its just not worth it. The quote used by Danny to show that discrimination is pointless, there is no point having racial grudges a lifetime should be used for erupt things .This film is important because it sends a subject matter to the viewer that racism can be turned around and forgotten about. The film shows a never ending bike of Prejudice as Danny is shot by an African-American due to his social views on ethnic groups. The film is relevant because the cycle needs to stop in society in order to respect everyone everyone deserves to be treated equally because we are all the sam e.Finally the fourth film that shows Prejudice is Gran Torino directed by Gran Torino. This film focuses on racial slandering, stereotyping and discrimination, shows friendship building, true family values and society conflict. The film primarily focuses on the character Walt Kowalski a retired war veteran who appears to be forced into racism after serving in the Korean War. Walts domain of a function is changing with his wife pasting away neighbourhood is decaying, his family kindred is slipping away and he is clinging to his Korean War memories that take away the happiness in his life. Walt lastly receives his redemption by conflicting destructive prejudice, consuming Hmong teenage gangs that have consumed him. The relationship between Walt and his neighbours causes him to overcome his racial issues and puts this neighbourhood further ahead than his own. This is important because it shows us how a friendship that never would have grown can even sometimes save a life. The import ance of this connection is shown through the use of dialogue I thought you Asian girls were supposed to be smart. This filming technique reveals Walt stereotypes Asian races only due to societys opinions on Asian people. This is an important issue because racial profiling targets all people of a particular race. The link in the text shows also how this can also lead to how racial groups can sometimes be treated like criminals and is unfair on the innocent people of these racial groups. My second connection involves character development, with key characters such as John Ryan, Skeeter Phelan, Derek Vinyard and Walt Kowalski that have had significant impacts on the public. The purpose of this contact of character development is to show that people have the ability to change their lives. That everybody has massive potential of creating change by events in reality that can further influence the people around them to do so. The four texts all show obvious signs of character development th rough constant transitions of change and perspectives on others lives. The first text I will be discussing is Crash directed by Paul Haggis that contains several(prenominal) protagonist characters one of the stand out characters is Officer John Ryan, this is show through character development. Officer Ryan is perceived as an extremely verbal person but his non-verbal communication speaks even louder. Early in the film, Ryan sells himself as a stereotypical arrogant police officer. This is shown when he pulled over Cameron and his wife Christine, this is due to him having villainy towards blacks, and he used his power to provoke inappropriate behaviour towards an innocent couple of colour. When Christine put her hands on the car, he began to feel her up and fiercely intimidating Character. However, as the movie progressed, you see Ryan living with his Dad and taking care of him due to his health problems. Then we see him take extreme measures to see to gain any health benefit for h is father. Finally at the climax scene of the film you see him have a transition to risk his own life to save Christine. My father doesnt deserve to suffer like this. He was a janitor. He struggled his solely life. Saved enough to start his own company. 23 employees, all of them black. Paid em equal wages when no one else was doing that. This quote is used to show that life is a never ending cycle and that you only get what you give and that karma will find a way back on you. This contact shows that it is only human to form an opinion of the whole when only based on a few. It shows that stereotyping many groups of people based, only a few incidents is a strong perception of people making paradoxical judgements in society. The character redeems him, but let his bitterness and emotion control his life and took it out on those who didnt deserve it. The film portrays that there is always sledding to be bad things to happen to us in life and we cannot hide from these issues. But it is up to us in society to go about how we take and move on to define who we are.The second text that involves character development is The Help directed by Tate Taylor is primarily focusing on the main character Skeeter Phelan helping the African-American community in America. Skeeter is brought up in a white high-division society that has strong feelings for coloured races which lead Skeeter to be so turn throughout the film. The character is influenced in seeing her friends employ African-American maids. Skeeter both admires and fears letting down her mother and her friend Hilly. Even though she pursues completing a manuscript called Help with assistance from a maid name Aibilieen. She seeks the reason Constantine abruptly left her familys employment. Dont waste your time on obvious things. Write about what disturbs you particularly if it seems to bother no one else. This quote is used to embolden Skeeter to write about The Help because they are pushed away from white society a nd werent inclined a fair chance of financial employment. This character is prominent to the public to stand up for peoples rights and to not be afraid of getting a base across in todays society. This character showed me to believe in you and to see others from their point of view she stood up for blacks rights and gave them a chance in American society. The strong message in the text is to not go down the same path as people who prejudice others, but to choose your own destiny and to treat everyone equally. The third text I will be discussing about my second connection of character development is American History X directed by Tony Kaye revealing the important traits of Derek Vinyard. The main character Derek Vinyard is a leader of a neo-Nazi group in Los Angeles, who goes to prison for murdering an African-American for ruptureing into his car. When Derek goes to prison, he is seen as a Nazi member with racist tattoos who is invited to the Aryan Brotherhood chapter. Derek rapidly becomes disengaged with this cult and that eventually lead to him being brutally raped by a skinhead member, by this happening Derek sees a greater side of life and wants to leave his ties with the group behind. He sees that there is no benefit of being in this gang, and wants to prevent his junior brother Danny to follow down the same path that he did. We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion whitethorn have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be by the better angels of our nature. This quote is a summary of the character development of Derek Vinyard as his brother saw him do wrong actions. This shows that our emotions and misguided prejudices separate us from everyone. This film is important because it shows that people with strength to lead us to what is right will show error in our actions to support us to lives allies, not enemies. This connection is r elevant in society because people are often mislead from others and dont ever change. This film shows we are better off to change and be independent that to be unneurotic and unhappy. The final text is Gran Torino directed by Clint Eastwood there are obvious signs of character development shown in the text, and this is from the main character Walt Kowalski. This shown in the film when Walt has new neighbours moving into his neighbourhood that lead to gangs being involved with the family. The character Walt is perceived as a racist Korean War Hero that is meet increasingly unhappy with his family and his wife passing away, he builds a relationship with the Hmong people. Walt had no problem calling it like he saw it. However, he was right. I knew nothing about life or death, until I got to know Walt and boy did I learn. This quote shows Walts true personality as he is seen as a stubborn aged man that slowly changes into a respectable, influential person. Walt does not want to be see n weak or to be taken care of, the slender he sees the Taul having a difficult time, he steps up to help him. This connection is important because, it shows how people are able to build a relationship from cultural differences and can be influenced to change into a tender minded and gregarious neighbour and father figure who define altruism. In Walts will, he donates his mansion house the local church and gives his prized possession of the Gran Torino to Taul, to pay his respects from his past of murdering Korean people. This film is important because it reveals how change can be good towards mortal but can also help people around you. The character Walt showed me that you need others that respect you to find peace and happiness. It is my opinion that the four texts Crash, The Help, American History X and Gran Torino all have strong views such as prejudice and discrimination that are relevant in society. The two connections I have chosen are prejudice and character development tha t are similar throughout the texts. The films have shown me how social issues are a distraction in society and take away the true colour of people and remove human spirit. Its also shown me that there isnt equality in society and that there is racial discrimination and that not everybody is given a fair chance on life. Each film has significant ideas such as stereotyping and social division that are issues that will most likely be around forever. Overall I would recommend the films in this essay because there are viewpoints that go unnoticed, the films can potentially inspire the viewer to have an attitude transition as the characters have. The films reveal messages that social problems are a never ending cycle and that it is up to us to break the cycle and to respect everyone.
